Trio No. 2 in D Major composed by Francois Devienne (1759-1803)
Edited by Hans Steinbeck for 3 Flutes
Includes PARTS ONLY
“Francois Devienne was born in Joinville (France) in 1759 and died in 1803 in Charenton. Not only was he well known as a virtuoso flautist and bassoon player, but he also achieved great merit as a teacher (Methode pour la flute, 1795). A prolific composer, his catalogue of works includes compositions of all types and forms. His preference, however, lay in the field of the wood-wind instruments for which he wrote many concertos, concertante symphonies and chamber music compositions. The present publication is the first practical re-issue of his Trio in D major (no. 2) for 3 flutes. It is based on the manuscript parts which are in the possession of the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi, Milan.”- (Hans Steinbeck, Preface)
