For Solo Piccolo

Inspired by enthusiastic earlybirds outside the composer's window, this piece as the perfect answer when the composer needed a musical idea uniquely for solo piccolo.  Commissioned by Lois Bliss Herbine for the National Flute Association's 2011 convention, the commission fee was gardening lessons and a carload of transplants from her garden to the composer's yard.
