These etudes are all based on the chord progressions to well known tunes that jazz exponents frequently use for improvization.

Setting the etudes in each of the 24 major and minor keys seemed a proper format for both the serious flutist and advanced student, including many teachers who can enjoy playing the etudes themselves.  The book is particularely aimed at those teachers whose better students are expressing an interest in “jazz flute”.

The book includes a variety of styles: swing, jazz, rock, ballad and latin, as well as a range of tempi from a very slow to very fast.
