“I envision these pieces as a bridge for those students who have had little exposure to classical music in its orignal form, and may have only heard them as background music on television commericals or in films. Trying to narrow down which pieces to arrange was like picking among jewels and revisiting all the wonderful music from the past was inspiring; now I have fresh material for singing in the shower!
“I have tried to include a variety of key signatures, ranges, styles, rhythms and ability levels so that the students come out stronger players. I suggest playing three or four of these at your next recital, with as many people as possible on each piece.
