Manchega, Etude do Concert Op38 composed by Louis Moreau Gottschalk (1829-1869)
Arranged by Trevor Wye for two Flutes (optional 3rd Flutes) and Piano
Includes score and parts
Manchega dates from the time of his Spanish tour, and passing through La Mancha country, he was inspired by the rhythms he heard there. Manchego for solo piano was the result. It is a very effective flute duo when the rhythms are played carefully with good articulation. Optional 3rd flute part.
The master flutist meets the master pianist in this rhythmic program piece for two flutes and piano. The great Trevor Wye again transforms a Gottschalk piano dance into thoroughly enjoyable material f or the flutist's repertoire (see also Wye's flute choir arrangement of Tournament Galop). Pay careful attention to the rhythmic elements for full effect. An optional 3rd Flute part is also included.
