Melodious Etudes
(Melodische Übungen)
Composed by Walter Zachert (1886-1968)
For flute
Published by Scott
Preface:
These melodious exercises, based on practical experience, can be used to supplement any flute method. They are in progressive order beginning with studies of intermediate difficulty, and contain a variety of exercises such as scales, intervals, tone production, rythm, ornaments, chromatic sales, etc. It is a wellknown fact that students can get easily bored with pure and simple technical exercises. These studies, however, have been composed in a tuneful way. To guarantee a sure progress, all studies, even those already learnt, and especially the fundamental ones, have to be repeated time and time again.
