Menuetto From Symphony #40 – K550 by WA Mozart
Arranged for flute choir by Shaul Ben-Meir
This movement is a Menuet and Trio, but it is not the delicate dance of the ballroom. The Menuetto (in g minor) is heavy in style, dark in nature, emphasized by the 'forte' dynamic level. The Trio (in G Major) is light, lyrical, and a soothing, gentle 'piano', making the return of the gruff style of the Menuetto even more harsh in contrast.
Scored for 8 C Flutes (parts 3, 4, and 5 are divisi), Alto Flute, Bass Flute and String Bass.
