The arranger expresses her goal as giving the listener “the impression that they's heard the entire “Pictures at an Exhibition” even if it only took 5 minutes…. like a mad dash through an art gallery in order to catch the bus back to the hotel!….The Unhatched Chicks run amok among the Children at Play, the Gnome repeatedly dives into the passersby, the house with the hen's legs struts through the Great Gate of Kiev, and so on.”
