Sonata Abella (Opus Musicum Sonatorum 1686) by Johann Pezel, arranged for flute choir by Al Hager.
This work was taken from one of Pezel's later string ensemble collections. Strive for contrast between the opening theme, light and separated, and the following 3/2 section, faster and smoother. Use only one piccolo and one C Flute 1 player. The rest of the parts can be doubled. (composer's note)
Scored for piccolo, 4 C flutes, alto flute (or 5th C flute), bass flute, optional contrabass flute
