The composer fostered often close and amicable relations with the interpreters of his works; this was then reflected in the music. The Trio for Flute, Oboe and Piano exhibits Genzmer's typical handwriting while giving the instrumentalists the opportunity to demonstrate their cooperation in contrapuntal textures, and virtuosic ability.
