Performance Notes: “Tunes for a Purple Cactus” written for and premiered at the grand opening of The Purple Cactus Burrito and Wrap Bar in Jamaica Plain, MA on 22 June 1999.  Many of the titles refer to things on the menu or to a general restaurant experience, except for “dreaming of stusi”, which is a reworking of a flute and bass trombone duet I had written as an exchange student in Germany.  I included it in these duets because the style of the piece fit the occasion.
