Graupner was a German composer and harpsichordist in the time of the high Baroque music, and lived in the time of (and worked with) JS Bach, Handel and Telemann. During his lifetime, only a small portion of his compositions were published. This piece is from a manuscript titled Overture a 2 Corni di Selva (2 hunting horns), and is cataloged as Overture in G GWV466. Most likely composed between 1732-34, the soloists trills and flutters over the simple flute choir accompaniment.
