Performance Notes:
“Waltz Italiano” is an original light composition written for the expandable flute choir. As it moves along at a steady pace in three-quarter meter, the music is quite ethnic sounding and reminiscent of many of the famous waltzes from Italy. You audience may even want to start dancing. This work has beautiful melodies, buses basic harmony and simple rhythms. The various sections alternate between the keys of G minor and G major several times throughout the composition, which keeps the music interesting. I have liked Italian waltzes for many years and always wanted to compose my own. I feel confident others will find this work enjoyable, useful and fun. It would be ideal for an ethnic themed concert or as a nice addition to a performance where something lighter is needed or desired. “Waltz Italiano” can be learned and have performance ready in a short amount of time. Enjoy!
