Holiday Delight arranged by Ricky Lombardo for Flute Choir
Includes score and parts
Instrumentation:
2 Piccolos
3 C Flutes
2 Alto Flutes (or C Flutes)
Bass Flute (or C Flute)
This arrangement is extremely versatile in any flute choir situation as it is written in the expandable form. With the use of the first four parts, two piccolos and two C flutes, this composition will work successfully. As the other instruments become available, they are used to expand the harmonic structure and introduce new counter melodies.
“Holiday Delight” is happy and melodic while being novel in sections. An original composition that combines many new melodies as well as familiar themes. Adaptable to any size choir, from four instruments (2 piccolos and 2 flutes) to ten, including alto and bass flutes
Although “Silent Night” is the most serious part of the piece, one finds some surprises that deviate from the traditional and customary harmony.
