      The 'Prayer for Peace' was introduced to me by Ann Labounsky, professor of organ at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ann was a former student of Paul J. Sifler, and she credits him with her desire to pursue playing the organ as a career. As an organist, I took it upon myself to interpret the few registration and manual notations from the original score to create this arrangement for solo flute and low flutes. The range of the original version suited this instrumentation very well, and I think the resulting arrangement is a nice interpretation of this lovely and pastoral piece.
